Coaching for Profound Change through the Enneagram*

Course Description
This course creates the foundation for the Deep Coaching Certification program. Focus is on penetrating into the dynamic nature, experience and consciousness of each of the nine spheres of consciousness to increase both your ability to recognize internal dynamics more objectively and expand your compassion, as a root of true change. You’ll deepen your understanding of the inner logic and Triangle of Identity that keeps your clients stuck, and become more attuned to the growth processes for each. See your own biases and preferences more clearly. Explore how various coaching strategies can work for or against your client’s highest good.

The Fundamentals course can be taken as a stand-alone without enrolling in the full curriculum.
Format
This course is presented in a distance learning format, and includes 14 phone sessions of 2 hours each.
Each session is formatted for engaged learning: lecture, break-out sessions, discussion all based upon deepening presence.
Engage in break-out groups to explore the material for your own application, and integrate your learning through further discussion, reflection and partnering.
Between sessions, you’ll have readings and a guide to help you prepare for and integrate your learning. You’ll meet with a learning partner to review and practice. A private online forum will connect you with your peers and mentors to share your insights and ask questions. You can expect to invest an additional three to four hours each week outside of class time.
Certification Units
This course is approved by ICF for 24 CEUs and is accredited by the International Enneagram Association (IEA). Approval for ACSTH certification credits by ICF is pending.
Outcomes of the Course
Within the Three Fundamental Threads of Deep Coaching, you will expand your ability to:
1) Understand the Human Condition

Understand the relationship between the essential nature and the personality for each sphere of consciousness;

Develop understanding of the specific “pre-awareness internal landscape” that leads to each person’s inner experience;

Attune to 3 distinct energetic styles distinguished through the Social Style groupings.

Through the use of the Triangle of Identity, learn to quickly recognize the core issues that are present for individuals dominant in each type;

Orient yourself to the specific higher gifts for each Enneagram Point;

Recognize your client’s most True nature and learn how to awaken the individual to discover what is beyond their Patterns of identity (and limitation).
2) Self-knowledge and self-embracing of the coach

‘Try on’ each of the 9 spheres of consciousness to deepen your understanding and compassion and develop a broader experience of yourself;

Begin to make more sense of your own experiences with others;

Practice presence as a learner, as a coach, as a coachee, and as a witness;

Discover your personal inner experience of and relationship to each of these primary patterns;

Actively engage in your own psychological and spiritual development.
Prepare for remarkable self-inquiry and growth.
3) Understand the Change Process

Become sensitive to the invisible dynamics of type and their resulting visible manifestations, especially in the context of coaching conversations. Here, you will gain a deeper capacity to meet the client where he or she is.

Explore coaching from the perspective of the nine ‘world views’ and the nine different paths of growth and change.

Learn and practice basic Deep Coaching principles. Gain insights into various applications of the Enneagram.

Tap into the emotional, mental and somatic reality of each type within yourself and grow in your capacity for working with diverse clients.

Practice creating a container that supports intimate coaching conversations.
