From Inner Critic to Inner Authority
Changing Your Relationship with the Inner Critic Changes your Relationship to Your Life
Gain healthy and healing perspectives + tools + resources + support. Deepen Presence.
Course Description
By this point in the curriculum, you have become knowledgeable about how the personality structure works and how it obstructs you and your clients from experiencing and expressing Truer Nature. Now you will refine your understanding of one of the most pivotal, dominant, and, when uninterrupted, most potentially damaging aspects of the personality. As you engage in your own development, you’ll also learn powerful ways to help your clients shift their relationship to the Inner Critic, and embrace more of their authentic knowing.
There’s no question. How each of us experiences ourselves is related intimately to the amount of internal life space the Inner Critic takes! While it can show up under any and all circumstances in life, the Inner Critic becomes particularly activated and accelerated when an individual is on the path of real change and growth.
When the relationship to the Inner Critic is changed, restful freedom from repetitious mental, emotional and somatic stories that present as obstacles result, allowing more room for what the soul and heart are dying to experience. You’ll discover that working with the Inner Critic offers a potent and dynamic portal for healing and the emergence of greater consciousness.
Format
This course is presented in a distance learning format, and includes six phone sessions of 1 ½ hours each.
Each session is formatted for engaged learning and inquiry: lecture, coaching demos, occasional break-out sessions, and group inquiry. Because the activity of the Inner Critic can be experienced as a personal dynamic unshared by others, it is important to hear about the experiences of others.
Between sessions, you’ll have readings and discovery processes (which you can use with your clients) to help you prepare for and integrate your learning. You’ll meet with rotating learning partners to review and practice coaching. A private online forum will connect you with your peers to share your insights and ask questions. You can expect to invest an additional two to three hours per week outside of class time.
You will have a chance to immediately use this material with your Deep Coaching fieldwork clients (as appropriate to the situation, of course).
CEUs
9 CEUs will be awarded for this course by the ICF and by CBBS.
